“If you’re listening, whoa! Sing it back, whoa!”

Just as those first several lyrics were uttered, a brief cheer emanated from the crowd, but it quickly transformed into a theatre-wide jumping fest. Most of my energy was expended through that song alone. As “Sweetness” concluded, all the members of Jimmy Eat World joined one another onstage, high-fived some of the crowd in the front row, and gave away gems from guitar picks to drumsticks. Zach Lind took a photo of the crowd, and now I can say that my photo — albeit it being an unflattering one, and that I was merely one face in a sea of many — is stored in a rock star’s phone. Bucket list item: checked.

If I could re-live the entire concert, with every moment taking place exactly as it transpired that Sunday night, I totally would.
