Is My iTunes Library Too Masculine?

Since the evidence presented in my iTunes library supports the claim, I decided to explore the details of the gender disparity that lies within my playlist — and plug some of the feminine voices hidden beneath all that masculinity.

A Tribute to My Grandmother

Four months and sixteen days after my grandfather passed away, his soulmate — my grandmother — joined him. I was given the honour of participating in a tribute that involved several people my grandmother knew. Being the youngest of the selected, I spoke on behalf of all the grandchildren. Just before my grandmother was laid to rest, I stood in front of a cathedral full of parishioners with handwritten scrawls that held together my tribute speech, and emotions that were probably much less composed. Blue Spanish Eyes: In Memoriam

My grandfather passed away at sundown of January 7th, following complications from pneumonia and a stroke. His funeral, though bungled with the complications of small town tradition, was underlined by sharing wonderful memories of my grandfather and collecting strength from family, which lightened the grief just when we needed it the most.
