In the light of the many recent events that have incited unwarranted hatred towards certain groups, I have compiled a small list of cultural comedy videos as my personal response. It is my contribution in bringing a sense of reflection — through doses of intelligent humour — and, in the name of laughter, the courage to mend broken bridges.

This year’s World Cup had a historical end, Spain emerging victorious. The world was not united in emotion, though; some mourned, some rejoiced. But once again, I witness the engagement of football fans into a collective spirit. It is one filled with emotion, unspecific to creed, nationality, race, walk of life, or choice of team for the World Cup Final. In the midst of it all, I share some of my personal observations — and a word or seven about that blasted octopus.

Several months ago, I read an article plugged on someone’s Facebook profile summarising the results of a decade-long study about the connection between friendships and our overall well-being. The article particularly highlighted the effects of long-term friendships that transcended distance and location, which triggered me to find the personal connections between the individuals I consider friends.
